River Bottoms (part 1 of 2011)

The river Bottoms are a family favorite. Kevin has been hiking the river bottoms with his dog Jazzy since he first came here and we have taken it up as a sort of family tradition. Last year we started the tepee and it has been growing ever since. It is a beautiful hike no matter which way you go. Here is a compilation of pictures from the river bottoms this summer. Oh ya, in case I forgot to mention before, this is where we encountered our first bear while hiking. Oh and the river bottoms are about 3 minutes from home. Talk about living in the wild!

Hard to see but tucked away in the trees is a herd of elk.
